The Event Management Problem Most Clubs Face

Most Australian clubs run their events on a patchwork of disconnected tools. For shoot day after shoot day, committees end up:

  • Paying for TryBooking or Eventbrite and their club software
  • Manually reconciling nominations against the member database
  • Checking firearm licences and safety briefings by hand on the day
  • Recording scores on paper, then re-entering them later
  • Publishing results hours or days after the event ends
  • Tracking mandatory participation across separate systems

Every disconnect between systems creates double-handling, errors, and admin hours your committee volunteers shouldn't have to absorb. Squadspot's event management changes that by treating events as a native part of your membership platform — not a separate tool bolted on.

The Complete Event Lifecycle, in One Platform

Squadspot covers every stage of running a club event — from publishing the event to publishing the results — with member compliance, licence checks and payments built in at every step.

01

Event Setup & Promotion

Create events for shoot days, competitions, working bees, social functions, or championship rounds. Configure entry types, fees, eligibility rules, and promotional copy. Events publish automatically to your club's website and (coming soon) to the national shooting events directory on Find Shooting Clubs.

02

Member & Visitor Nominations

Members nominate online and Squadspot automatically verifies their financial membership, firearm licence currency, mandatory participation status, and category eligibility — before they hit submit. Visitors and guests can nominate via a separate flow with the right safety briefing acknowledgements built in.

03

Integrated Payments

Entry fees are collected at nomination time through Squadspot's secure payment system. Funds flow straight to your club's account, automatically reconciled against the nomination, the member, and the event. No separate TryBooking invoice to chase, no manual matching afterward.

04

Day-of-Event Check-In & Compliance

Members check in via QR code on the day. Range officers see member status, licence currency, and any safety flags in one view. Attendance is captured automatically, contributing to mandatory participation counts without any additional admin step.

05

Live Scoring (coming soon)

Score events from the trap line on a mobile device, with live updates streaming to public results pages as the day progresses. Built for Australian shooting disciplines including clay target, sporting clays, rifle, pistol and more. The end-of-day spreadsheet reconciliation disappears entirely.

06

Results Publishing & Member Records

Final results publish automatically — to the club website, to the public events directory, and into each member's permanent score history. Mandatory participation counts update instantly. Grading and handicap calculations run in the background. The shoot is done, and so is the admin.

Event Management FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

When will Squadspot's event management be available?

Squadspot's event management is rolling out to clubs progressively through 2026. Foundation clubs are already trialling the core event workflows. Live scoring for clay target disciplines is the next major release. Join the waitlist to be notified when general availability opens and to access early-adopter pricing.

Can Squadspot replace TryBooking, Eventbrite, or similar event ticketing tools?

For club-run events, yes. Squadspot's event management replaces the separate event ticketing tool most clubs currently pay for, while adding compliance, licence verification, member integration, and (soon) live scoring that general-purpose ticketing platforms cannot offer. One platform, one invoice, one source of truth.

Does Squadspot support clay target, sporting clays, and other shooting disciplines?

Yes. Squadspot is built specifically for Australian shooting clubs and supports the disciplines, grading systems, and scoring formats used across ACTA, SCA, NRAA and SSAA-affiliated clubs. Live scoring with discipline-specific scoring algorithms is in active development, beginning with sporting clays and expanding to other disciplines through 2026.

How does event management integrate with membership records?

Every nomination, attendance, payment, and score automatically flows back to the member's profile. Mandatory participation counts update in real time. Score history accumulates over years. Licence currency is checked at nomination, not on the day. The event isn't a separate system — it's a native part of the member record.

Will clubs be able to migrate event data from MCMS or SCA Live Scores?

Yes. A migration path for clubs moving from MCMS or SCA Live Scores is being designed as part of the launch. The objective is for clubs to bring their historical results and member scoring data into Squadspot without loss, so that switching to a modern integrated platform doesn't mean starting from zero.

Can my club's existing TryBooking or Eventbrite events move to Squadspot?

Once event management is live, existing event registrations and attendee data can be imported into Squadspot during onboarding. Most clubs find that their next event is the natural switching point — set it up in Squadspot from the start, let it run end-to-end, and the next twelve months become dramatically simpler.
